Cindy Schultz – Office Manager & Bookkeeper
Cindy grew up in Roberts and graduated from St. Croix Central High School. During high school she sang with the Wisconsin State FFA Choir and was a cheerleader for football and wrestling. She previously worked for Mills Fleet Farm, The Country Store, and First Federal Savings Bank before coming to work for the O’Connells in 1998.
While working at the bank, Cindy opened funeral trust accounts for the O’Connell Family Funeral Home. One day Tom called to ask if she would be interested in doing the bookkeeping for the funeral home. When she first started, she came in jeans and sweatshirt, paid the bills, balanced the checkbook, and went home. Over the years, Cindy took on new responsibilities and started working regular hours. Now her duties include scheduling, filing death certificates and permits, answering phones, processing insurance claims, maintaining human resource matters, and bookkeeping tasks. She has always enjoyed helping people. Says Cindy, “I am lucky to have a job where I look forward to going to work. This job is never boring. The staff at the funeral home are my second family.”
She is currently a Roberts Ribbon Reapers 4-H Leader for the cat, dairy and community service projects. She is a member of the Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ. Throughout the year, Cindy can be found playing the drums with the SCC Alumni Community “Bifocal Band.” She loves fishing and spending time at the lake and cheering for St. Croix Central Sports teams. She is a BIG fan of the Minnesota Vikings, and with her husband being a Packer fan, the football season is always interesting in their house!
In her spare time, Cindy likes to travel, garden, bake, read, listen to music, and spend time with her family, friends and cats. Cindy and her husband Joel live in rural Hammond on their family dairy farm.
