Cary Rose

Crematory Operator

Cary was born in Hudson, WI in 1963 where he spent a lot of time on the St. Croix River swimming to the sandy islands, engaged in multiple sports activities, and creating lifelong friendships. After high school, Cary attended several technical colleges graduating with multiple degrees. In the early 1980’s, Cary moved to River Falls, WI where he became a member of the River Falls Voluntary Fire Department. After 7 years of service on the River Falls Fire Department, Cary enjoyed serving his community and had a taste of the public emergency services.

In 1993, Cary started his career in law enforcement. Cary received the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award in 2017. In 2019, Cary retired after 26 years of service with the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office. Cary is still humble to this day to have served such a great community. Thank you!

In November 2021, Cary started his career with O’Connell Funeral Homes. He is now once again on the other end of the spectrum helping the community graciously, humbly, and respectfully with the passing of their loved ones.

When away from work, Cary enjoys spending time with family and friends which includes Cary’s girlfriend Nancy (Johnson) Chrisel from Hudson. Cary has two adult children – Luke Rose, married to Samantha, and lives in River Falls, and Taylor Rose and her boyfriend Derek Crook who both live in Hudson.

Cary and Nancy enjoy their summers boating on the St. Croix River where they spent most of their summers as teenagers.
