Steven Eugene Steele, age 72 of Lakeland, Minnesota, passed away on October 14, 2021 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. Steve was born on December 1, 1948, in Pipestone, MN to Edward and Mildred (Schmidt) Steele. He graduated from White Bear Lake High School with the class of 1967 and continued his studies in the plumbing trade before  serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Steve was united in marriage to Linda Contreras on October 10, 1970 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Paul, and the couple was blessed with a son, Shawn. Steve worked hard to provide for his family, and was beloved for his kindness and giving spirit. His quiet demeanor made him easy to talk to, and he always had a good joke to share with his son. Steve was a proud member of Plumbers Local 34 of St. Paul for over 50 years. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle with the North St. Paul Post 39 American Legion Riders.

Steve will remain in the hearts of his wife of 51 years, Linda; their son, Shawn; his brother, Rick (Kathy) Steele; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Beverly Jacobs, Gary Steele, and Sandy Lundstrom.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Steve will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, October 25, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 16770 13th St. S, Lake St. Croix Beach, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass at the church. Masks preferred. Interment with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, please meet in Assembly Area #2 by 11:25 a.m.
