Agnes Mary O’Neil, 98, of Ellsworth, died Monday, August 1st, 2016 in Ellsworth, WI surrounded by family.

Agnes was born on December 13, 1917 in the town of Trimbelle, the daughter of John and Margaret (Zirnhelt) Huppert. She was the eighth of 11 children.

She attended St. Mary’s School in Big River. At 23 years of age, Agnes married John Francis O’Neil in September 1939, and together they farmed in Pierce County and raised nine children.

Agnes loved flowers and was known as the “Flower Doctor”, because of her ability to heal plants and flowers with her home remedies.

She was a member of St. Francis Parish in Ellsworth, WI.

Agnes is survived by her children: Duane (Judy), Richard, Diane (Kevin) Johnson, Peggy (Gary) Falde, Daniel, Jack (Mary), Karen (Peter) Traynor and David (Laurie).

She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband in 1991, an infant daughter Marjorie, her parents, brothers and sisters Mathew, Edward, Anthony, Ralph, Rudolph, Alex, Martha Nelson, Katherine Larson, Florence Murphy, and Arnold.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth, WI on August 4th from 5-8 pm with a 7:30 pm prayer service.

There will also be a visitation for one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at the church. A Christian Mass will follow at 11:00 am on Friday, August 5, 2016, and Burial will follow at the St. Francis Church cemetery.
