Alan H. Van Den Broeke

Alan Henry Van Den Broeke

12/07/1955 – 01/01/2021

Al Van Den Broeke of Hudson, Wisconsin died Friday, January 1, 2021 due to complications of COVID at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Al was born on December 7, 1955 to Henry and Christine (Lesewski) Van Den Broeke in Marshall, MN.  He grew up in Marshall, attending Holy Redeemer Catholic grade school and Marshall High School graduating with the class of 1974.  He attended Southwest MN State University in Marshall and was a graduate of the Bank & Finance program at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, MN.

He began his banking career at First American National Bank in St. Cloud.  In June of 1981, he accepted a position with First National Bank in Hudson, WI (which became Associated Bank) where he worked for 27 years.  In February 2008, he accepted a position at Citizens State Bank in Hudson, WI which was where he currently worked.

Al was united in marriage to Susan (Sue) Pavek on June 26, 1982 in St. Cloud, MN.  They celebrated over 38 years of marriage.  Al’s devotion to his family and generous heart will never be forgotten by daughter Kristin (Kevin Stieber) and son Mark (Emily Binversie).

He is also survived by his brother Duane (Laurie) of Savage, MN and their children Alison and Sam, mother-in-law Barbara Pavek, in-laws Sonya & Steve Vaurio, Connie & Steve Johnson, Terry & Annette Pavek, Cheri & Bob Severson, Gary Pavek, Bobbi Jo & Mike Eischeid, Kathy & Dan Torgerson, 16 nieces and nephews as well as extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Christine and his father-in-law John Pavek.

He was a proud member of the Hudson community for over 40 years and volunteered in various capacities including being a recent board member of Camp St. Croix. He was most proud of the people Kristin and Mark grew up to be.  He will always be remembered for his community service and incredible work ethic.  Our hearts are broken and we long for more time with him.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Camp St. Croix. Please follow the link (https://www.ymcanorth.org/give/campgiving#close) for online donations, choose Camp St. Croix for the designation, and include Al’s name in the Tribute Gift area.
