Alex Johnson

Alex Paul Johnson, age 20 of River Falls and formerly of Hammond, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. Alex was born November 10, 1993 in Hudson, WI to parents LeRoy and Michelle (Jaure) Johnson. His father, LeRoy, would precede him in death in October of 2005. Alex attended St. Croix Central Schools, and graduated with the Class of 2012. He enlisted in the United States Army, and served in Afghanistan, returning just this past May.

Alex learned the love of deer hunting from time in the outdoors with his dad, grandpa, uncles and cousins. He loved to cook, play music with his guitar, golf at Badlands, and spend time at grandma and grandpa’s house. He loved his family, his dog “Titan”, and his snake “Solid”. Alex had a wonderful sense of humor, dry sarcasm, and quick wit about him, which he came by quite naturally. Alex will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Alex was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Johnson; paternal grandfather, Lauren Johnson; and maternal grandfather, Frank Jaure. Alex is survived by his mother, Michelle (Dennis) Hahn; sister, Macey Johnson; brother, Jeremiah Johnson; step-brother, Brandon (Dana) Duchow; paternal grandmother, Joyce Johnson; maternal grandparents, Mike (Sandy) Ley; aunts and uncles, Lonnie Johnson, Todd (Laurie) Johnson, Laurene (Roger) Ray, Tammy (Rodney) Ray; and Francine DeHerrera; as well as many cousins and friends.

A Remembrance Gathering for Alex Johnson will begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin. The gathering will conclude at 4:00pm with military honors. Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Countryside Crematory of Baldwin, WI. 715-684-3434
