Alice Froncek

Alice Agnes Froncek, age 95, of Hudson WI, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Red Cedar Canyon Assisted-Living in Hudson. She was born the sixth child of Frank and Agnes (Zurowski) Raniszewski on December 21, 1915 in Kansas City, MO. She was a graduate of Milwaukee’s Bay View High School. On April 6, 1940 Alice was united in marriage to Walter T. Froncek at St. Alexander’s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They were blessed with three children: Joyce, Thomas and Michael.

Alice worked for 13 years as a clerk for the Madison Public Library. For many years, she was a volunteer with the Racine Literacy Council teaching people how to read. She enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, movies, and of course – her cats. Her friendly smile and laugh will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; son, Thomas; and five siblings: Eugene, Marcella, Frank, Helen, and Pat.

Alice will remain in the hearts of her daughter, Joyce (Dick) Law of Hudson WI; son, Michael (Dee Dee) Froncek; daughter-in-law, Ellen Froncek; seven grandchildren: Susan (Ryan) Burns, Marjorie (Tom) Law-Gotich; William Law, Karen (Joe) Sullivan, Robert (Linda) Law, Jesse (April Salazar) Froncek, and Abby Froncek; 11 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.

The family sends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Red Cedar Canyon for their love and care of Alice for the past two years.

A celebration of Alice’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 20th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Hudson. Visitation will be one hour prior to Mass at the church. She will be interred at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Milwaukee on Thursday, April 21st at 11:30am. Memorials in her name are preferred to the Red Cedar Canyon Activities Fund – 3001 Hanley Road, Hudson, WI, as well as the St. Croix Animal Friends – P.O. Box 1169
