Allen Vincent Wood

d. February 5, 2025

Allen Wood, 81, a longtime resident of Hager City, Wisconsin, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Comforts of Home, where he had been receiving care for a short time.

Allen was born on November 11, 1943, in Red Wing, Minnesota, the son of Vincent and Gladys (Johnson) Wood. He was raised in Esdaile, Wisconsin, where he attended grade school before graduating from Ellsworth High School. As a young man, he enlisted in the Armed Forces and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, being stationed in Okinawa.

On July 4th, as the country celebrated its independence, Allen celebrated his love by exchanging vows with Pamela Tiffany at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. Pam had three children of her own, and together, they created a blended family filled with love and support.

Allen was a dedicated and respected employee of Nestlé Purina in Hager City, where he worked for 37 years as a maintenance engineer. He was well known around the plant, always ready to lend a hand and troubleshoot any issues while catching up with his coworkers.

At home, Allen took great pride in maintaining his yard and garden. He was meticulous about mowing his lawn to perfection and eagerly anticipated spring so he could plant his vegetable garden. His harvest was always abundant, but his pumpkins were his pride and joy, which he sold near the roadside. Allen also cherished the companionship of his beloved pets, Bitsy and Bella, who were always by his side.

Allen was the first to admit he wasn’t perfect and openly acknowledged the struggles he faced with alcohol for many years. However, with the unwavering love and support of his wife, Pam, they confronted those challenges together and found freedom from its grip. God granted him the Serenity!
Allen was blessed to share his life with his best friend and wife, Pam; his loving stepchildren, Sarah (Dave) Mitchell, Thomas Jr. (Miranda) Fisher, and Kris (Teri) Fisher; and his cherished grandchildren, Sierra, Mia, Gemma, Diego, Giana, Kroix, and Blaze, as well as great-grandchildren, Enslee and Bryson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gary; and his sister, Janet (Bruce) Griffy.
