Almira Louise Emma LaPitz, age 91 of Roberts, WI, passed away surrounded by family on February 21, 2015 at the Hudson Hospital in Hudson, WI.

Almira was born November 24, 1923 in Sacred Heart, MN, the daughter of Albert and Bertha (Wallert) Tolzman. She grew up in Vesta, MN and graduated from Redwood Falls, the Class of 1941. Almira took several college level medical courses and also attended the University of Minnesota, and graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Almira was united in marriage to Gerald LaPitz on May 7, 1949 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Hopkins, MN. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Gerald, Jr., Louise, Cheryl, and Dianne. They raised their family in St. Louis Park, MN.  Almira worked at a dental hygienist at an individual dental practice, retiring in 1979. After retirement, the couple temperately moved to Menahga, MN where they spent 40 wonderful years enjoying nature and life.

Almira had a strong religious faith in God and was very involved with Sunday School education programs. She read her Bible daily and always encouraged people to “love one another.” Almira loved spending time outdoors, gardening, picking blueberries, and hunting for wild mushrooms.  She was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the American Dental Hygienists Association and the Minnesota Valley Country Club Audubon Sanctuary Program.

Almira will remain in the hearts of her beloved husband of 65 years, Gerald; daughters, Louise (Martin) Rutz, Cheryl LaPitz, and Dianne (Gaylen) Enerson; grandchildren, Alex LaPitz, Sarah (Eric) Host, Shelly (Josh) Sturre, Erik Peterson, Chad (Mary) Enerson, Keli (Matt) Rudd, and Sheila Enerson; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn, Parker, Wyatt, Lily, Paige, Taylor, Blake, Mazie, Jamie and Ashley; brother, Myron Tolzman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Gerald Jr. “Skip;” and her parents, Albert and Bertha (Wallert) Tolzman.

A Funeral Service for Almira will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Cross Lutheran Church, 1246 County Road TT, Roberts, WI. A visitation will be held from 4-7PM Tuesday, February 24 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI, and one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday.
