Alton Eugene Monsun, 90, of Ellsworth, WI, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017 at the Atrium Post Acute Care Center, Ellsworth.

Al was born October 25, 1926 in Red Wing, MN to Elmer and Mabel Monson. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, class of 1944 and was a lifelong farmer. After retiring, Al wintered in Arizona where he enjoyed playing pool, cards, and shuffleboard. He loved to travel, golf, and watch sports, especially the Packers. One of his favorite pass times was meeting people, hearing their stories, and visiting with them. He would liven up a room with his sense of humor and will be remembered fondly.

Al is survived by his long time special companion, Elaine A. Huppert, and his five nephews, Gordon, Larry and Lee Westfield and Robert and Duane Boettcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Marion Westfield and Irene Boettcher and nephew Donald Westfield.

A Funeral Service for Al will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at English Lutheran Church Ellsworth. A Visitation for Al will be Thursday, May 18, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Hill Funeral Home in Ellsworth and an hour before service time at the church.

Burial will be at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Ellsworth.
