Alvin Pechacek

Alvin Edward Pechacek, age 87 of River Falls, WI, passed away March 3, 2020 at the Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls. Alvin was born January 12, 1933 in River Falls to Theodore and Clara (Rock) Pechacek. He graduated from River Falls High School, with the Class of 1951. Alvin was united in marriage to Donna Kusilek on September 8, 1951 at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Galen, Ronald, Cynthia, and Roxanne. Alvin worked for United Refrigeration in Hudson, then began his career with 3M in St. Paul. Alvin and Donna moved to St. Louis, MO, where Alvin continued his career with 3M working in the automotive sales division for a total of 36 years, retiring in 1992. After retirement, Alvin and Donna worked as ushers for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.

Alvin was a talented musician, who shared his joy of music throughout his life. In his earlier years, Alvin was an active member in the St. Bridget Catholic Church choir, and sang for many weddings and funerals. Alvin also delighted in being a part of the Polka Band, The Red Ramblers. Together the band played at wedding dances at the Bay City Ball Room, Proch’s in Ellsworth, and other venues for 23 years. After moving to St. Louis, Alvin continued as a one-man band playing the electric keyboard at various community events and care centers. Alvin enjoyed his time on the golf course, as well as the peacefulness of fishing, and camping. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Moose Lodge. Not only was Alvin an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, but a devoted Green Bay Packer fan as well. Alvin and Donna were blessed to share many travels together throughout the years, with some of their favorite destinations being Europe, Alaska, Hawaii, and their winters in Florida and Arizona.

Alvin will remain in the hearts of his loving wife of 68 years, Donna; son, Galen (Mary Jo) Pechacek of Eagan, MN; daughters, Cindy (Dennis) Kusilek of River Falls, and Roxy (Jim) Naes of Imperial, MO; daughter-in-law, Pam Pechacek of Chester, IL; grandchildren, Erin Pechacek, Jennifer Maki, Elizabeth Ohlau, Derek Pechacek, Lisa Christensen, Jacky Smith, Abby Sutton, Zachary Naes, and Alyssa Naes; great-grandchildren, Emily, Carter, Addison, Anna Beth, Julia, Liam, Jackson, Jessa, Colton, Cash, Kayla, and Jonah; brothers, Ted, Duane and Roger Pechacek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alvin was preceded in death by his son, Ron; brothers, Darold and Harvey Pechacek; his parents, Theodore and Clara Pechacek; and infant great-granddaughter Kaitlynn.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM Saturday, March 7, 2020 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 211 E. Division St., River Falls, with Rev. Fr. Jerry Harris officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until the time of Mass at the church. Interment will take place at St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery.
