Anna Smirnov, age 90 of Ellsworth WI, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Ellsworth. Anna was born February 25, 1928 in Bavaria, Germany to parents Josef and Frieda (Hertlein) Grabendorfer. She was united in marriage to Rudolf Smirnov on April 23, 1946 in Ingolstadt, Germany, and together they immigrated to the United States in 1952.

Anna was a homemaker who took great care in all her house work, yard work, and her flower and vegetable gardens. She was also a gifted seamstress, and a wonderful cook. Her special touch will be missed dearly by her family.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolf; her son, Rudolf; great-granddaughter, Holly Klein; and a sister. She is survived by her grandson, Ben Smirnov; granddaughters, Candella (Matt) Jarocki, and Lacy Smirnov; great-grandchildren, Kala Constant, Bailey Smirnov, Taya and Mac Hemphill, and Cooper Jarocki; great-great-grandchild, Raelyn Constant; and other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral Services for Anna Smirnov will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 130 N Grant Street in Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services. Anna will be laid to rest at the Trimbelle Cemetery in rural Ellsworth.
