AnnaBelle Evenson, age 87, of River Falls, WI died April 29, 2016 at the Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls. She was born on February 12, 1929 in Boyceville, WI to Lawrence and Catherine (Beaver) Hendrickson. On October 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to Glen Evenson until his death in 1983. On July 30, 1994 she was united in marriage to Orrie Brettingen.

AnnaBelle loved her family and they were her number one priority. She was a seamstress, first sewing for her siblings and herself and after she started her own family she sewed clothing for her children and continued sewing for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. AnnaBelle was an avid book reader. Starting the day meant reading the newspaper with her morning coffee. She also loved nature, especially flowers and birds. She was a selfless person who always tried to support environmental causes, diverse cultures, nature and the less fortunate.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Catherine; husband, Glen Evenson; great-granddaughter, Ella Hammond; brother, Larry; sisters, Arlien, Elenora, Arliss & Mary; step-daughter, Nadine Bittner.

AnnaBelle is survived by her husband, Orrie Brettingen of River Falls, WI; children, Bruce (Jennie) Evenson of Boyceville, WI, Sonia (Roger) Hammond of River Falls, WI, Collin (Cindy) Evenson of Knapp, WI, Greg (Jacki) Evenson of Mounds View, MN; grandchildren, Kyle (Hanna) Hammond, Jason (Stacy) Hammond, Erik (Tamara) Evenson, Melissa (J.J.) Johnson, Aja (James) Ruhnke, Sever (Amber) Evenson, Ethan Evenson; 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by step-children, Rhonda (Craig) Finstad of River Falls, WI, Stewart (Nancy) Brettingen of Texas, Randall (Elsa) Brettingen of River Falls, WI; step-son-in-law, Steve Bittner of St. Paul, MN; 7 step-grandchildren and 1 step-great-grandson; brother-in-law, Norm Hagen of Glenwood City, WI; sister-in-law, Helen Hendrickson of Washington State.

Funeral service 11:00am Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, River Falls. Visitation 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home, River Falls. Interment is in Tiffany Cemetery, Boyceville, WI.
