Annabelle Wikkerink, age 79 of Baldwin WI, died on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Baldwin Care Center. Annabelle was born in February, 1937 to Carl & Frances (Wisse) Ballard at the Baldwin Hospital. She attended the Hammond school and graduated in 1955. She went on to further her education at the University of WI-Stout, after earning two scholarships. She worked at resorts in Wisconsin and the Catskills of New York. Upon graduating from Stout in 1959 with a BS degree in Home Economics Education, she taught grades 7-12 in Amery, WI. On Sept. 16, 1960 she was united in marriage to Dean Wikkerink at the First Reformed Church in Baldwin. As a member of First Reformed Church, she served as pre-school librarian, taught Sunday School and Catechism, as well as served on the Community Supper Committee.
Her hobbies included sewing, reading, traveling, gardening, and visiting friends & relatives.
Preceding her in death were her parents; infant daughter; brother, Dan; and nephew, David McGriffin.
She is survived by her husband, Dean; sister Elaine (Wayne) McGriffin; brother, Allan; nieces & nephews; 2 great-nephews; 2 great-nieces; and many friends & relatives.
A Celebration of Life for Annabelle Wikkerink will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the First Reformed Church, with Pastor Timothy Sluiter officiating.
