Arlene Francis Gulbranson, age 85, of Hudson, WI formerly of Ellsworth, WI passed away peacefully on April 2, 2018 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls. She was born on September 7, 1932 in Baldwin, WI to Harold and Grace (Nelson) Plumley. On July 26, 1952 Arlene was united in marriage to Sherman Dale Gulbranson in Ellsworth, WI.

Arlene and Sherm were owners/operators of businesses in Ellsworth for 35 plus years. Those businesses included Ellsworth Frozen Foods Locker Plant and Ellsworth Econ-O-Wash (laundromat). They also owned and operated Sherm’s Bar for nine years. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, baking, embroidering, and cooking (potato salad being one of her specialties). She also did daycare for several years for her grandchildren and other families in the Ellsworth area.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Grace Plumley; husband, Sherman Gulbranson; son-in-law, Carl Schrank; grandson-in-law, Bert Rohl; siblings, Arliss Stewart, Betty Lemmons and Jerry Plumley.

Arlene is survived by her loving children, Neil (Sue) Gulbranson, Robin Schrank, Scott (Joanne) Gulbranson, Tammie (David) Huppert; her special grandchildren, Stacey Rohl, Cady Gulbranson, Taryn (Collin) Harris, Lucas Gulbranson (Shelly Kringen), Ben Gulbranson, Abbey (Mitch) Myers, and Stephanie Huppert (Brady Anderson); great-grandchildren, Wyley, Oliver and Max Myers, Brea Rohl, and Collette Harris; her siblings, Robert Plumley and Sue Lindsley; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services for Arlene will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 6th, at English Lutheran Church, 229 West Main St., Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be 11:00 am until the time of the service, also at the church. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.
