Audrey Halvorson, age 102, of Hudson, WI, formerly of Willmar, MN, passed away on August 16, 2021, at Comforts of Home in Hudson. Prior to this, she was a longtime resident of CCH Wintergreen Senior Apartments. Audrey was born on August 4, 1919, in New London, MN to parents Oswald and Mae (Smithson) Gravgaard. After graduating from New London High School, Audrey moved to Los Angeles where she married Donald Halverson on May 10, 1941. Together they had two daughters.

Audrey and her family returned to Minnesota in 1946 and established Halvorson Photography. Later, she worked as business manager for The Willmar Daily Reminder. Audrey was civic minded and a talented organizer, volunteering for her church as well as several organizations.   She especially enjoyed her work with Rice Memorial Hospital and served as its Auxiliary President.  Audrey was a lifelong learner and took a great interest in politics and work affairs. When asked the secret to her long life, she replied, ”… I was just happy.”

Audrey will remain in the hearts of her daughters Judith Dahlseid and Patricia Neer; grandchildren Scott (Jeanne Levassur) Dahlseid, Kari (Joel) Kowski, Tim (Susan) Dahlseid, Kristin Atmore (Peter) Lund, and Andrea Atmore (Mike) Coleman; great grandchildren Wyatt, Jarrett, Alexander, Cormac, Jack, Dylan, Audrey, Charlie and Tommy. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald, Parents Oswald and Mae, and her sister Aileen Bruske.

A memorial service for Audrey will be held on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 2:00 pm at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Memorials to the family are preferred and will be donated to her favorite charities.
