Audrey Simon

Audrey Margaret Simon, age 89, of Prescott died peacefully November 30th, 2021 at the Prescott Nursing and Rehab. Audrey was born on October 8, 1932 in Trimbelle Township; the daughter of Bernard and Rose (Gutting) Denzer. She was raised in Ellsworth where she attended Ellsworth High School. On June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to William Simon at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott. Many will remember Audrey as the cook in the kitchen for the School District of Prescott, where she worked for several years. Audrey took great pride in calling Prescott home. Whether raising her family, attending church, or volunteering. She loved being a native to this beautiful city. She enjoyed her volunteer work with the food shelf, Freedom Park, and the Great River Road. Spending time with family at the cabin gave her the greatest pleasure. Fishing, family, and paddle boating were so much fun. She also looked forward to a competitive game of cards. Make no mistake about it, she wanted to win.

Audrey will forever live on in the hearts of her children, Bill (Diana) Simon, Theresa (Mitch) Schanus; grandchildren Terrie (Phil) Gallant, Laura Williams (Brent), Jennifer (Tom) Ptacek, Sarah (Mike) Swisher, Katie (Aaron) Tuckner, Matthew Schanus; sister Lavon Gray, and sister-in-law Doris Denzer. She joins her parents, husband William; infant sons John Simon, Scott Simon, Howard Simon; siblings Virginia (Dave) Huppert, Donald Denzer; grandson Joseph Simon in the chorus of angels above.

Mass of Christian Burial for Audrey Simon will be 11:00a.m., Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Prescott. Visitation will be one-hour prior at church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph parish cemetery.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Prescott.
