Barbara M. Avise

Barbara May Avise, age 69 of River Falls, WI, passed away August 1, 2015 at the River Falls Area Hospital.  Barbara was born in Sheboygan, WI, the daughter of Oliver and Anna (Hayon) Behnke.  She graduated from Sheboygan North High School, the Class of 1964.  She was united in marriage to Keith Lowell Avise in Des Moines, IA.  Upon their marriage, Barbara become the step mother to two wonderful daughters, Roxanne and Rochelle.  Barbara worked with the IT Department for Andersen Windows for many years, retiring after a stroke in 2004.

Barbara had a generous heart for dogs,  taking great pride and pleasure in showing and breeding English Mastiffs.  She was on the City Council of Stillwater, MN in the 1980’s.  Along with her husband, Keith, she appreciated being a member of the BMW Car Club, and enjoyed the many friendships gained.  Barb and Keith were fortunate to share many travels together in their RV.  Some of their favorites being mountain destinations of Colorado and Canada.  Barb had a quiet nature, but was an exceptional mentor and teacher to those around her.

Barb will remain in the hearts of her husband, Keith; children, Roxanne (Chad Fouquette) Avise and Rochelle (Paul) Opseth; grandchildren:  Shelby, Wesley, Joe, Christina, Abigail and Shauna; great granddaughter, Brianna; and sister, Judy Gabriesle.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
