Benjamin C. Morgan, age 54 of Hudson, WI and formerly of Hayward, WI, died sudden and unexpectedly on February 3, 2014, the result of an accident. Ben was born September 14, 1959 in Minneapolis, MN to parents Frederick Morgan and Elizabeth Cleveland. Ben grew up in Hayward, WI, and graduated from Hayward High School with the Class of 1978.

While working at the Telemark Lodge Convention Center in Cable, WI, Ben would meet a young lady named Mary Cudd. The two started as co-workers, then becoming friends. Much like a fairy tale, they fell in love, and were later united in marriage on May 19, 1984. This union in marriage would be blessed with two children, and nearly 30 years of true love and happiness. Ben and Mary were that quintessential couple, and a sight to see on the dance floor. They loved to dance and have fun, and it showed. Ben will be remembered as a loving husband and family man, and a kind and caring father who adored his children.

Ben was known as a great friend to many. His day-to-day work at Tri-County Sanitation brought him in contact with all kinds of people who came to know Ben as a good listener, and a genuine, honest man with a firm handshake, and a strong faith. Ben loved being outdoors, where he could be found hunting, fishing, road biking, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, and water skiing. He skied the American Birkebeiner for ten years in a row. Ben loved to go out to eat, and at home, he was an incredible cook. He enjoyed good books, good wine, good bourbon, and mixing himself an Old Fashioned. Ben will be terribly missed by good friends, and a great family that loves him dearly.

Ben is survived by his wife, Mary; son, Jarod; daughter, Anna; mother, Elizabeth “Libby” (John) Telford; sister, Phoebe (Robert) Love; brother, Barney (Beth) Morgan; brother-in-law, Steve (Gail) Cudd; sisters-in-law, Nancy Cramer, Debbie Cudd, Julie (Neil) Ribar, Becky (Wayne) Koepke, and Jenny (Fred) Hauser; his beloved dog, Mabel; two generations of nieces and nephews, and many cousins; and a multitude of friends.

Memorial Celebration of Life Services for Ben Morgan will be held at 4:00pm on Monday, February 10th at the Faith Community Church, 777 Carmichael Rd. in Hudson. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to services at the church, and also from 3:00-8:00pm on Sunday, February 9th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 11th Street S. in Hudson.
