Bernard “Sam” Harold Kittleson, age 89 of Ellsworth, formerly of Prescott, WI passed on to Eternal Life Thursday, April 25, 2019. Sam was born 3/31/1930 in El Paso Township to Severin and Birdie Kittleson. He attended Prescott High School and graduated with the class of 1948. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951, stationed in San Diego, and was honorably discharged.

Sam was a 35-year employee of 3M and was also self-employed as our local TV Repair man in the 60’s in to the early 70’s. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Irene Seifert on September 1, 1953 until her death in 1998. They were blessed with 7 children. He lived and raised his family in Prescott before moving to Ellsworth after retirement. He was united in marriage to Barbara Adrianne Schroeder on June 12, 2010, blessing him with 2 step-son’s Mark and Jay Bauer who thought the world of Sam.

Barb and Sam had great love for each other and took care of each other in his wonderful tender years.

He enjoyed his antique cars, college level sports, our beloved Packers, he read the daily newspaper keeping up on current events, loved history and his country. Sam loved to travel around the world with one of his favorite places being Norway, which he traveled to seven times. He also enjoyed playing euchre with his friends but above all, he was a dedicated and loyal man who was fiercely protective of his family. He will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Dorothy; brothers, John, Wayne, and Arnold; sisters, Virginia Ofstie and Janet Huppert.
Sam is lovingly survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Jeff (Joanne), Sheri, Sheila, Julie (Alan) Ellefson, Kris, Renee, and Joan (Cory) Viertel, step-sons, Mark and Jay Bauer; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 step-grandson; sister, Lois Ruhr; brother, David (Donna); sisters-in-law, Pearl and Ardis; many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 251 Woodworth Street, Ellsworth, WI. Visitation 8:30-10:00 am on Tuesday, April 30th also at the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Prescott, WI.
