Bernice Narveson

Bernice Miranda Narveson, age 99, passed away on Thursday afternoon, September 2nd, 2010 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.

She was born the daughter of A. John and Alma Elg Fredin on August 22, 1911 in Comfrey, MN. She was received into the Christian Faith through Holy Baptism and confirmed through the Faith Lutheran Church of Comfrey. On August 30, 1938, Bernice was united in marriage to Raymond I. Narveson in Mason City, Iowa. They were blessed with three children: Diane, Janice and Robert. She will be remembered as being “the best, caring mom, and grandma, in the world.” She was patient and tolerant, and she lived her life with a sense of humor.

Bernice raised her family in Minneapolis, where she was an active member of Aldrich Presbyterian Church. She loved spending time with her family, took great pride in her home, and she also loved her church activities. Bernice worked at Honeywell, and then in the Sears catalog sales department – from which she retired after 13 years. She loved the holidays and sharing them with family and friends; especially Christmas.

She moved to Hudson in 2003; she resided at Pineridge until 2007 at which time she moved into the Christian Community Home. The family would like to thank those staffs for taking such good care of their beloved mother and grandmother.

She is survived by daughters, Diane (Tom) Danielson of Hudson, WI and Janice (Norm) Jordan of Brooklyn Park, MN; son, Robert (Diane) Narveson of Ramsey, MN; grandchildren Dawn (Randy) Rosewicz, Debbie Milkes, Tracey (Jim) Gilbertson, Tonya Narveson, Kim Stanley, Troy (Vergine) Stanley, Eric Stanley, Heather Hove and 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. She’s preceded in death by her parents & ten siblings.

A private service will be held with entombment in Sunset Mausoleumin in Minneapolis. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association. Arrangements have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 715-386-3725.
