Bernie Helen Singerhouse, age 81, formerly of Hudson, WI, passed away December 15, 2013 at White Pine Assisted Living in Fridley, MN.  

Bernie was born March 5, 1932 in Deer Park, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Lena (Schiefelbein) Cook.  Bernie attended New Richmond High School. Bernie was united in marriage on January 16, 1951 in New Richmond to Delbert L. Singerhouse.  Their marriage was blessed with three children: Rick, Cindy, and Gina.  

In her earlier years, Bernie enjoyed traveling with Delbert. She also enjoyed ceramics, making crafts, and gardening. Bernie loved spending time with her family and enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Delbert and Bernie extended their family by opening their hearts and home to provide loving and caring for over 750 foster children. Bernie was always helping others and was always donating her time to help the elderly at her church.

She is survived by her children: Rick (Heidi) Singerhouse of West Windsor, NJ, Cindy (Roy) DeGidio of Fridley, MN, and Gina (Jack) Rosenquist of Baldwin, WI; grandchildren, Andy, Abby and Charlie Singerhouse; siblings: Minnie Larson of New Richmond, WI, Gladys Knight of Stillwater, MN, Vera Wulf of Osceola, WI, Rita Haines of Stillwater, MN, and Jeanette Fletch of New Richmond, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert; and siblings: Myrtle Fischer, Milton Cook, Gerald Cook, Pete Cook, and Lois Hinz.

Funeral services for Bernie will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 505 13th St., Hudson, with Pastor Brian Ferguson officiating.  A visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at church.  Interment will take place at the New Richmond Cemetery with Andy and Charlie Singerhouse (grandchildren), Doug Hinz and Terry Fletch (nephews), and Roy DeGidio and Jack Rosenquist (son-in-laws) serving as pallbearers.  Memorials preferred to Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
