Bette Delores Ecker Jacobson Sneen Zasada passed away peacefully on August 10, 2015 at Comforts of Home in Hudson. Bette was born on September 30, 1928 to Julia Ecker Jacobson. Bette was a long time resident of Forest Lake, MN, Hastings, MN, and Baldwin, WI. 

Bette was a loving mother, grandmother, and “GG”. She embodied a true joy for life: family, friends, music, sunsets, birds, lighthouses, needlework, neighborhood parties, and square dancing. Many will remember her affinity for a Snickers bar, or always having a sweet treat for others. She lived much of her life along the St Croix River. Though she enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii, Bette felt most at home near the waters of local lakes and rivers, and amongst the beauty offered throughout the changing seasons. Bette lived her love for family, and leaves them a true legacy of love and devotion. 

Bette is survived by daughter, Pam (Larry) Luebben of Hudson, WI; son, Bruce (Linda) Sneen of Hastings, MN; grands: John Sneen of Hastings, MN, Michelle (Steve) Shambora of St. Charles, IL, Jeni Selleck of River Falls, WI, Brad Sneen of Hastings, MN, Robert Sneen of Hastings, MN, Ryan Luebben of River Falls, WI, and Julia (AJ) Kennedy of Somerset, WI; great-grands: Cruz & Robbie Sneen, Franklin & Mary Shambora, Ryenn Junker & Reagan Selleck, Taylor Sneen, Kaleb & Loran Sneen, and Sophia & Gabriel Kennedy; and many loving family and friends. Preceded in death by husbands, Curt Sneen and Henry Zasada; longtime friend, Jerry Hasselbauer; and mother, Julia Ecker Jacobson.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 14107 S. Hudson Rd., Afton, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. Special thanks to our “family” at Comforts of Home. Just as Bette gave of herself, her family requests that in her honor, you ‘pay it forward’ in a good deed for others, or give a memorial in her name to a Dementia/Alzheimer’s or Breast Cancer organization.
