Betty Annette Nelson, age 84, of Hudson, died peacefully early on September 15, 2013 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson.  Betty was born on October 2, 1928 to Otto and Esther (Halberg) Nelson.  She was united in marriage to Richard Nelson on September 1, 1950.  The marriage would be blessed with two children.  

Betty is survived by; her daughters, Susanne (Michael) Mclaughlin of Des Plaines, IL and Wendy (William Custer) Nelson of Decatur, GA and three grandchildren, Rose, Sam and Laura Custer. 

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Esther Nelson and husband, Richard. 

A memorial celebration of Betty’s life will be held at 11am on Friday, September 20 at the First Baptist Church in Hudson, WI.  A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services.  Burial will be held privately at a later date at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in Betty’s name to the National MS Society.  Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home.    715.386.3725
