Beverly Ann Fisher

Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother

Passed away peacefully on Dec. 29, 2010, in Hudson, Wis. Bev was born in Mt. Hope, Wis., on Sept. 9, 1931. She was the daughter of Ralph and Merle Garthwaite and lived in Dubuque, Iowa, St. Paul, Minn., and Rochester, Minn., as a young girl. She was confirmed in 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Paul and graduated from Rochester High School in 1949. She married Delmar Fisher on Feb. 18, 1951. After living in several cities in the Upper Midwest, she eventually settled with Del in Rochester, and she enjoyed an active church and community life there for many years while raising their family. During her years in Rochester, she was a homemaker and assisted Del in operating a family business. Bev and Del later moved in retirement to a lake home in Nisswa, Minn., which became a favorite spot for gatherings of family and friends and was made all the more meaningful by the love and hospitality that Bev showered on all who made the trip there.

Bev is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delmar, sister Elsie (Alan) Boss, brother Gene Garthwaite, daughter Cindy (Dan) Raaen, daughter Cheryl (Tim) Solinger, son James (Raenelle) Fisher, son Steve (Kim) Fisher and grandchildren Sonja (Pat) Hanson, Marija Raaen, Greta Raaen, Isaac Raaen, Ann (Josh) Ridder, Gretchen Solinger, Graham Fisher and Sylvia Fisher and great grandchildren Avery, Everett and Ike Hanson. With her gifts of compassion, empathy and wisdom, she was an inspiration to all who knew her and left a legacy of love with her family and friends that will be treasured forever. She will remain in our hearts always.
