Beverly Jane (Hansen) Dorsey, age 89, of Baldwin, WI passed away on June 14, 2024 surrounded by her loved ones at Western Wisconsin Health.

Beverly was born on November 10, 1934 to Maynard and Alice (Borgen) Hansen in Armour, South Dakota. At the age of only three weeks old, Beverly’s grandfather passed away and her parents made the trek back to Wisconsin. Beverly remained a faithful Wisconsin resident throughout the remainder of her years.

On August 16, 1952, Beverly married Thomas Dorsey at Holy Rosary Church in Cylon, WI. They made Cylon their home on a farm for over fifty-eight years. During those years, Tom and Beverly welcomed home seven beautiful children John, Renee, Gail, James, Ann, Gary, and Lisa. After years of farming, they made the decision to move to Baldwin after selling their homestead. Tom passed away shortly after their move at the Baldwin Care Center on December 18, 2010.

Beverly lived her life selflessly, giving her dedication and compassion to all those around her. Often fondly known as “grandma”, to those related and adopted by choice, Beverly touched the lives of many. Throughout her years, Beverly spent her time in an arrayment of volunteer programs to give to those she believed she could assist. This included the St. Croix County Guardianship Program providing emotional, moral, and legal support to those of all abilities or ailments, volunteering in the Peer-to-Peer program for at-risk children in the county, spending her time supporting the staff at the local hospital or senior care center, being a 4-H leader as an advocate at the county and statewide levels. Being the spunky woman she was, Beverly would travel across the state to watch her granddaughters play softball where she diligently watched the game through her scorebook. When Beverly wasn’t farming, visiting with family, or volunteering, she spent hours stitching beautiful keepsakes to give to friends and family. Throughout her years, she created over three hundred and eighty-five tablecloths, bibs, pillow cases, baby quilts, dish towels, and more that she proudly entered and displayed at the St. Croix County Fair and would gift to those she loved on any occasion.

Beverly is preceded in death by her husband Tom, children John, Renee, and Gail, parents Maynard and Alice Hansen, her sister Shirley, her brother Dean and his wife Mary, her in-laws Alice, Erwin, Mary, Virginia, Catherine, Anna, Julia, and John Dorsey, her niece Julie, her granddaughter Melinda Engesther, and her great-grandson Morgan Krupa.

Beverly is survived by her children Jim (Angie) Dorsey, Gary Dorsey, Ann (Rod) Ley, and Lisa (Mike) Weiske; her grandchildren John Dorsey, Frank (Ashlie) Dorsey, Matthew (Erica) Dorsey, Justin (Katie) Grinnell, Nicole (Steve) Bailey, Elizabeth Grinnell, Paige (Brock) Saniter, and Shelby (Michael) Krupa; her great-grandchildren Madelyn, Clara, and Cassidy Dorsey, Waylon Dorsey, Lance Kolba, Landon, Gracie, and Luke Grinnell, Preston Dolphin, Kayden Champion, Peter and Tyler Engesther, Erwin and Reagan Dorsey, Layla Santele, Leighla Jo Bockorny, and Wyatt Krupa; her brother Dale (Harriet) Hansen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
