Beverly Martha Bronfeld age 86 of Westport CT. passed away December 9, 2024 at her home.
She was born November 18, 1938 to Mr. and Mrs. Albert P.J. Hanson after her parents had been married for over a year. She lived in the city of Hudson, WI and as a child she moved to rural Hudson in 1947.
She was active in the Troy Trojans 4-H Club, sewing her own dresses. She also took voice lessons from Mabel Jacobs, a well-known voice teacher in Hudson. At her high school graduation in 1956, Beverly sang “We’ll have these moments to remember”. She also sang as a soloist at Bethel Lutheran Church in Hudson.
After graduating high school, she went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City, NY. She was in two plays in New York City “Lil Abner” and “Hansel and Gretel”. In Roanoke, VA, she played a Nun in “Sound of Music”. After retiring from singing and acting, she opened “Beverly’s Collectibles” in Brookfield, CT where she sold collectibles and antiques. Her shop was destroyed recently, therefore, last Halloween she sold Halloween Antiques and collectibles from her house.
In 1964, she married Stewart Bronfeld. They did not have any children, but had three dogs. The first dog seemed to be Beverly’s favorite named Briar Patch. When he died, she wrapped her dog in a blanket and buried the dog.
Her husband Stewart preceded her in death. In a recent conversation with her brother Wayne, she said, “I will always be a Lutheran, and a Lutheran until she died. And when St. Peter comes knocking at her door she’ll eat up the Lutheran pie.”
Preceded in death by her husband Stewart; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sargent, and Mr. and Mrs. John Hanson; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert P.J. Hanson; and brother Kenneth A. Hanson.
Survived by brother Wayne (Lilibeth) Hanson; and many nephews, cousins, and friends especially Leona Kinney and Gary Lein.
