  1. Our deepest sympathy to Cheryl, the girls and the rest of the family. The Grays were truly blessed to have Bradley and family come into our lives. I remember the exact time, so many years ago, in Del’s barber shop when Del said to Dad, “Maybe you should see if Brad Langer wants to help with harvest.” Little did we know that would lead to so many years of harvest, many more acres, hundreds of hours and a wonderful friendship. The two of you have been great friends to Mom and Dad. I don’t think I’ve met anyone with such a great work ethic as Bradley. It was nothing for him to put in a 20 hour day to beat the coming rain or snow during harvest. And beyond that he was a really good guy and great to work alongside.
We often find ourselves telling Brad farming stories. We can’t tell one without including some of his classic sayings in that slightly raspy tone, “Let me tell ya Rose”, “Aw, quit your bitch’n “or “ We’ll figure something out.” And those near catastrophic events averted only because of Brad’s fearless and skillful driving. Of course, after the fact he always assured Rose that he had everything under control. The countless times when mom delivered a sandwich sack lunch and Brad would later bark to dad, “What did you have for lunch?”. Dad would quickly throw back, “Prime rib, why”. And the back and forth would in-sue.
We always looked forward to that first sighting of the fall when Brad would pull in, usually about 3 weeks early and shout, “When are we starting?”. Of course, he’d drive in proudly with a brand new pickup that he traded for every year. He loved his truck, especially a “clean truck”. He was never happy if the bean dust blew the wrong way and covered his truck. We would all hear about it then.
You didn’t have to spend much time with Brad to realize he was a family man. He was always talking about Cheryl, the girls and his grandchildren. He loved his family deeply and it was evident by all that he did with them and for them. It seemed like Brad was always cooking food either for Cheryl or any combination of kids or grandkids that might be stopping by. He always talked about the many events going on in his grandkid’s lives. He loved you all!
We will all miss him. He was a wonderful blessing to the Gray family.
With Deepest sympathy and love, The Grays.
