Carol Ann Mach, 78, of New Richmond, Wisconsin, passed away surrounded by family on April 24th, 2023 at Westfields Hospital in New Richmond, WI.

Carol Ann was born on June 16th, 1944, to Robert and Mary McCarthy, in De Graff, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm with her brother James and sister Mary. Carol attended Benson High School and graduated in 1962. After high school, she moved to St. Cloud where she completed her nursing degree at St. Cloud School of Nursing in 1965. Upon receiving her degree, she moved to the Twin Cities and began working at Divine Redeemer Hospital in South St. Paul as a Registered Nurse. In 1966, she met and married Joseph Francis Griesgraber III of St Paul MN and moved to Newport, MN, where they started their family. Carol and Joe had 5 children together: Joseph IV, Robert, Daniel, Melissa and Patrick. While raising her children, Carol worked for 22 years at Divine Redeemer before retiring from nursing in 1987. After leaving her nursing career, Carol went on to work for Mach 1 trucking where she was a truck driver for over 30 years. This job took Carol down many roads, from locations across the Midwest all the way to California. She hauled everything from vegetables to processed meats.

Carol was a loving mother, wife and friend to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends throughout her life. Her fondest memories included the many family vacations she took to the cabin on Lake Minnewaska every summer, listening to music, going out dancing with friends, celebrating holidays, baking goodies and cooking great meals and getting together with her friends to play bridge and other card games.

Carol Ann is survived by many who will miss her dearly including her former spouse, Joseph Griesgraber (& Nancy), children: Joseph Griesgraber IV (& Andrea), Daniel Griesgraber (& Lacy), Robert Griesgraber (& Pati Wittek), Melissa Hill (& Brian), Patrick Griesgraber (& Molly Cross), and 12 grandchildren including Joseph Griesgraber V, Danielle Griesgraber, Mariah Fredrickson, Sandi Buchholz, Crystal Dale, Aidan Griesgraber, Ella Griesgraber, Kellen Griesgraber, Allie Hill, Carter Hill, Kristina Griesgraber, Matthew Griesgraber and 9 Great-grandchildren, her sister Mary Elizabeth Hilliard (& Bruce) and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, James Robert McCarthy and her parents Robert and Mary (Welsh) McCarthy, and second husband George Mach.

A celebration of life will be privately held by the family at later date to be determined.
