Carol Ann Sommers, age 73 of Hudson, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on March 15, 2020 at Red Cedar Canyon Senior Living Facility in Hudson. Carol was born on September 9, 1946 in Guymon, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Ruby (Hansen) Newsom. She graduated from Marshfield High School, and earned an associate’s degree in teaching. Carol married the loved of her life, Paul Allen Sommers on June 10, 1967 in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Carol loved her family and truly appreciated the time she spent with them. She enjoyed every day she shared with her husband, and relished the time she spent with her grandchildren. Fishing with her husband at their cabin was a favorite hobby of Carol’s. During her sons’ football games, Carol was famous for her liberal use of a cowbell that she used to cheer on her sons and their teams. She also loved teaching, and taught pre-kindergarten classes for over 30 years.

Carol will remain in the hearts of her sons, Eric (Kym) and Marc (Sheila); grandchildren, Mya, Joe, Lucas, Riley, and Brenna; sister, Sharon Harrington; and all of her beloved family members. She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Sommers and her parents, Floyd and Ruby Newsom.

A Private Memorial Service for Carol will be held.

Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, Wisconsin.
