Carol Ann Thom age 84 of Prescott died unexpectedly on June 27, 2022 in Aurora, Illinois. Carol was born to Joseph and Adeline (Johnson) Buss on April 14, 1938 in Trimbelle, WI. She graduated from Prescott High School with the class of 1956. Carol married the love of her life on October 12, 1957 at St. Mary’s Big River Catholic Church in Oak Grove, WI. This union blessed them with three daughters Carolyn, Lisa, and Susan.
Carol was a hardworking woman who had a career in banking for over thirty years. She had a passion for traveling and had many wonderful experiences through the years with Bob, family, and friends. Carol had a gift of writing and wrote many pieces that were inspirational to all. In Prescott everyone knew her as “Nana”; she had the ability to make everyone feel special. She enjoyed meeting and being with people and loved to have a good time. Her most treasured gift was spending time with family, they meant everything to her. Carol had a strong devotion to Our Lady and her Catholic faith; her love of God shined through and made her a remarkable woman. She lived a full life. We are so blessed to have her for our Nana. She will be greatly missed by all the lives she has touched over the years.
Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; children: Carolyn (David) Iverson, Lisa (Greg) Meyers, and Susan (David) Alarid; grandchildren: Leah (Marc) Konopacki, Mathew (Marissa) Iverson, Sarah (Jordan) Grabow, Joseph Lacek, Mark Lacek, Anna (Brenden) Mann, Kyle (Devan) Alarid, Connor Alarid, Lindsay Alarid, and Grant Alarid; Brother-in-law: Glenn Buss. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Adeline Buss, Deloris (Harold) Bayer, Marion (Duane) Johnson, and Marlene Buss.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00am on Monday July 11, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish: 269 Dakota St S, Prescott, WI 54021 with Fr. Zacharie Beya officiating. A visitation will start at 9:00am until the start of mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Prescott.
