Carol Jean Denninger, age 71 of Ellsworth WI, died on Friday evening, November 23, 2018 at Preferred Senior Living. Carol was born December 16, 1946 in Red Wing MN to parents Otto and Dalla (Block) Hove. She graduated from Ellsworth High School. Carol was blessed with four daughters, Joanie, Sheri, Kelly, and Tami.

Carol spent over 25 years as a secretary with Pierce County, working in Emergency Management and Land Management. She loved her work and the connections she made with others during her time there. Carol enjoyed baking, puzzles, playing Bingo, listening to music, and rooting for the Ellsworth Hubbers and Minnesota Twins baseball teams. After retirement, she always enjoyed visiting and catching up with others at coffee club. Above all though, Carol cherished time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She and her smile will be deeply missed by family and friends alike.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Joanie Matter, Sheri (John) Johnson, Kelly (Tim Smith) Bundich, and Tami (Darren) Place; her grandchildren, Danielle and Andrew Matter, Abram, Drake and Josephine Strickland and Kaley Johnson, and Ethan and Evan Ladwig; her great-grandson, Carter; siblings, David (Mary) Hove, Mary (Dean) Holden, Ann Jahnke, and Barry (Rita) Hove; sister-in-law, Laurette Hove; best friend, Susie Sabby; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Dalla Hove; and siblings, Claire Hove, Joe Hove, Junior Hove, Judy Hove, and Donald Hove.

Memorial Services celebrating the life of Carol Denninger will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 28th at English Lutheran Church, 229 W. Main Street in Ellsworth, with Pastor Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Ellsworth. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, and also from 4:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, November 27th at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home, 130 N. Grant Street in Ellsworth.
