Carol Weberg, age 88 of Hager City, Wisconsin died Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Tinta Wita Tipi Senior Assisted Living Community. Carol was born on December 10, 1934, in Red Wing, Minnesota, the beloved daughter of Reuben and Harriet (Tollison) Cady. Carol’s journey through life was colored by love, family, and an indomitable spirit. She graduated from Maiden Rock High School. Following this, she worked a short time as a clerk for Citizens Fund, an insurance company. Her life took an abrupt turn. She married George Flynn in 1954, and together had four children. They later divorced. Later in life, she married Bertil Weberg, and together they welcomed two more children into their family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was a source of immeasurable joy in her life.
Carol simply loved being a homemaker. She delighted in baking scrumptious goodies and crafting delicious dinners that brought loved ones together. Her green thumb was evident in the vibrant blooms of her flower garden, where family heirloom peonies and the sunburst yellow of marigolds added color to her proud homestead.
Carol had a competitive spirit and enjoyed card games, particularly euchre, where she played with the determination to win. She was an unwavering supporter of the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers, cheering them on through thick and thin.
Carol had a knack for turning every trip to a thrift store into an adventure. Her passion for collecting shirts, even if they never left the hanger, was a testament to her quest for a bargain. For many years, they called Maiden Rock home, building a life filled with love, laughter, and more cherished memories. After Bertil’s passing, she moved to Hager City.
As time advanced, Carol’s health declined, leading her to Tinta Wita Tipi Senior Assisted Living. To her surprise and delight, she discovered a deep affection for the facility and its residents. Bingo became her favorite pastime, so you’d better not call her at 2 pm – it was BINGO time! She also relished the bus trips to Walmart and the challenge of assembling intricate jigsaw puzzles.
Carol’s legacy lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her vibrant spirit and love of family will continue to inspire many; including her children Robin (Dale) Mesenburg, Kimberlee (Gary) Stai, Craig (Teresa) Flynn, Kristi Flynn, (Scott Jacobson), Melody (Tony) Carlstrom, Shelly (Duane) Zimmerman; grandchildren Jason Stai, Luke (Jenni Hense) Flynn, Abbie (Pete Schommer) Flynn, Kyle Gustafson, Thad Zimmerman, Cady Zimmerman; great grandchildren Kodi, Madisyn, Jackson; siblings Elroy Cady, Curt (Sheila) Cady, Jackie Emerson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Her parents, husbands George and Bertil; brothers Allen (Margie), Robert; and grandson Caleb Gustafson precede her in death.
