Carol Zillmer

Carol Elaine Zillmer, age 75 of Baldwin WI, died on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the American Heritage Care Center in Hammond. She was born on March 8, 1935 in Stanton Township, Wisconsin to Edward M. and Irmegarde C. (Braemer) Sather. A Baldwin High School Alumni, class of 1952. On February 25, 1958, she united in marriage to Gordon Adolph Zillmer at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baldwin.

Carol worked for many years as a teller for the First National Bank of Baldwin and then Newton’s Supermarket in Hammond. She is a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and their WINGS ladies guild in Woodville, WI. Carol also was a volunteer for Adoray Hospice-Treasures of the Heart, and was a member of the Baldwin Area Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her son Nicholas (Mary) Zillmer of Crosby, MN; her grandchildren Megan and Hayden Zillmer; sisters, Judith (John) Newton of Hammond and Karen (Doug) Berkner of White Bear Lake; sister-in-law, Dorothy “Butch” (Carroll) Schneider of Baldwin; brother-in-law, Richard (Sally) Hurtgen of Baldwin; eight nieces and 3 nephews and their families. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband; sister, Norma Grundy; sister-in-law, Audrey Hurtgen; and nephews, Todd Hurtgen and Luke Murphy.

Funeral Services for Carol Zillmer will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Woodville at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 with Pastor Wayne Hilgendorf officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will also be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, and one hour prior to services on Friday. Memorials will be used to further her legacy and the organizations she dearly loved.
