Cecil Richison

Cecil Richison, age 84 of Hudson passed away peacefully Thursday November 19th, 2020 at his residence with his family by his side. Cecil was born July 26, 1936 in Siren, Wisconsin; the son of James and Martha (Schnock) Richison. He spent his childhood growing up in Siren. After he graduated from Siren High school, he enlisted in the Armed Forces where he proudly served in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Columbus, Ohio he would meet the love of his life Patricia “Patty Cake” Gabriel. He was united in marriage to his sweetheart on July 4, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio. This union was further blessed with children Danny and Kristine.

Cecil was a business man by nature and would go on to own several businesses with his brothers Bob and Jim. They owned Richison’s Bar in Hudson, Richisons’s Hideaway Resort and Richison’s Crossroads in Siren, Wisconsin. After years of being self-employed, he ventured into the packaging industry where he spent years creating and designing flexible packing for KaPac Corporation as their Vice President of Production. One of his proudest achievements was the stand-up pouch that was patented. It was ahead of its time. Cecil would move on from the packaging field after the loss of his wife in 1995 and son in 1996. He would begin a new venture with the purchase of Mary’s Maids. With his daughter Kristie, they would go on to run the business for over 20 years. Although Cecil never got over the loss of his wife and son, through his faith in the Lord, he found peace. He enjoyed walks, playing cards with family and friends and Saturday night polka dancing with his “little goil” Kristie. His giving was abundant to those in need. He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Cecil will forever remain in the hearts of his Daughter Kristine (Todd) Dierks of Hudson; Grandchildren Taylor May Dierks, Melissa Ann Richison, Travis James Richison, Dustin Robert Richison; and Great Grandchildren Emily, Tori, Hailee and Daniel; Siblings Bob (Hazel) Richison, Lucille Bluhm, Doris Lodien, Ardell O’Neill, Jim (Sharon) Richison, Tom (Sandy) Richison, many nieces and nephews
