Celia Elizabeth Schrank Webb Geurkink, 88 (who told everyone she was 96), passed away at Willow Ridge Nursing Home in Amery, WI on Saturday, April 30, 2011.

Survived by 5 children; Tom Webb (Gail) Baraboo, WI, Margie Belock Stillwater, MN, Billie Buckeridge (Ian) of Moyu Australia, Jackie Mathison (Doug) Woodville WI and Brenda Ramin (Steve) Amery, WI; eleven grandchildren, Jeff and John Webb, Bryan Mathison and Becky Mathison Liegl, Elizabeth Belock Andersen, Scott, Brett and Jackie Buckeridge, William, Anneliese and Michael Ramin; 5 great grandchildren Tyler and Connor Mathison, Gracieanna and Lilianna Liegl, and Sydney Webb; many nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.

Celia was born in Forest River, ND, on August 9, 1922, and graduated from Forest River High School, class of 1940. She went on to train at the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN where she met her first husband, John Lowell Webb of Baldwin, WI. She and John were married in Forest River, ND on December 31, 1941 and then settled on the family homestead North of Baldwin, WI, with his parents George and Jennie Lund Webb. This was home for the next 35 years and was where they farmed the land and raised their family. Celia was an active member of the Baldwin community serving as Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, teaching Sunday school, and volunteering at church and in many charitable organizations. She later married Bill Geurkink spending many pleasant years together and with whom she traveled to Texas annually for the winter season. She adored her family and her pets. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening, playing cards and dominoes, and various arts and crafts and always had a keen interest in the world around her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William Otto and Clara Minnie Schneider Schrank, her sister Pearl Margaret Schrank Hendricks, her ex-husband John Lowell Webb and her second husband, Bill Geurkink.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 5, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Woodville. Interment will follow at the Baldwin Cemetery. A visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to the service at the church, as well as from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street, Baldwin, WI. Wednesday’s visitation will conclude with a Masonic Prayer Services provided by members of the Eastern Star. Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home – Baldwin. 715-684-3434
