Charles Becker

Charles Claude Becker of Hager City WI, died on Monday, October 22, 2018 at his residence. He was 83. Charlie was born February 24, 1935 in Ellsworth WI to parents Edwin H. and Phyllis M. (Brown) Becker. Like many of his generation, Charlie attended country school. On June 2, 1962, he was united in marriage to Charlotte Ann Miller. Though they later divorced, a son Curtis would be born to them. Charles later remarried to Deanna Stelling, and together they would be blessed with over 43 years of marriage before her passing just three weeks ago on October 1st.

Charles worked for over 30+ years with Meyer Industries in Hager City. Outside of work, Charlie enjoyed hunting and fishing, growing vegetables in his garden, and playing card games, such as euchre and canasta. Charles loved making donuts with his brother Mike. He also made fantastic vegetable beef soup, and strawberry and raspberry jams and jellies that he would share. His family will fondly remember his love and devotion shown to Deanna through the care he provided her, and take comfort in knowing that they are together again.

Charles is survived by his sons, Curtis and Randy (Lisa); his granddaughter, Makayla; his brother, Mike (Cindy); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Deanna; son, Scott; daughter, Cheryl; his parents; and siblings Bill, and Mary (Vernon) Skinner.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 3:00-6:00pm on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home in Ellsworth WI. A private family burial will be held. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell-Benedict Funeral Home of Ellsworth WI. 715-273-4421
