Charles A. Thompson, age 79 of Roberts, passed away June 1, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis. Charles was born October 11, 1932 in Bayport, MN; the son of Harry Sr. and Ruth (Gardner) Thompson. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean war. Charles worked as a cook for many years. He enjoyed family gatherings, cook outs, fishing and playing roll poker with his family.

He is survived by his children: Melissa Thompson of Ridgeland, Michelle Thompson (Stewart Carrick) of Woodville, Sean (Mary Jo) Thompson of Hammond and Gordon Thompson of Roberts; grandchildren: Brittney, Harley, Tanis, Thor, Samantha, Zach, Talia, Shylow and Mason; brother, Harry Thompson Jr.; sister, Marsha Baribeau; and daughter-in-law at heart, Lynda Sprecher. He was preceded in death by his son, Matthew; six siblings and his parents.

Funeral Services for Charles will take place 10:00 AM Friday, June 8, 2012 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
