Charlotte Krause was born May 9, 1913 in Ellsworth Township to Chester and Clara Gotzman Krauss. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s UCC Church.
She attended Freier Elementary School and graduated in 1930 from Ellsworth High School and then attended the Minnesota School of Business. In 1938 she married Kenneth Krause and they farmed in Salem Township until moving to Ellsworth in 1970.
Charlotte enjoyed hobbies of knitting, crocheting, needle point and other stitching along with reading and crossword puzzles. Her family was of utmost importance and she loved hosting dinners and gatherings. She was an active member of English Lutheran Church and a member of Chapter 116 Order of Eastern Star for 72 years.
She is survived by daughters, Elaine (Jim) Hines of Ellsworth, Janet (Ronald) Werhnyak of Saline, MI; four grandchildren, Todd (Molly) Hines, Sara (Greg) Place, Mark (Diane) Hines, Larissa Werhnyak; five great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; three great great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband Kenneth, her parents, three siblings, Marion Anderson, George Krauss and Claribel Fels and one granddaughter, Anya Werhnyak.
Funeral service for Charlotte will be 11:00 a.m., Friday March 10, 2017 at English Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, WI. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the time of service at 11:00 at the Church. There will also be an Order of Eastern Star Service at 9:00 a.m., preceding the funeral.
