Cheryl Ryan, age 65 of New Brighton, formerly of Baldwin died peacefully Monday December 27th 2010 at the New Brighton Care Center. Cheryl was born on July 3, 1945 in Baldwin; the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Schultz) Ryan. Cheryl was born mentally handicapped but was full of life. She thoroughly enjoyed singing or dancing and lit the room up with her smile. She loved being outdoors and was active with the sporting events with the Special Olympics.

She will be fondly be remembered by her sister Diane Jenkins of New Brighton, sister-in-law Jeannine Ryan of Baldwin, aunt Della Timm of Bloomington, and special nieces and nephews Jacalyn (Michael) Chies, Darcy (John) Holick, Jody (James) Donaldson, Brent (Audrey) Ryan, Sue Ann (Harlan) Kvendru as their families as well. She is preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Roland Jenkins, infant brother Richard, brother Gerald, aunt Luella Schultz, and uncle Orlin Timm.

Funeral service for Cheryl will be 11AM Thursday December 30th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will be in the Glenwood City Cemetery with active casketbearers being Brady Chies, Ryan Chies, Michael Chies, and James Donaldson. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at O’Connell’s on Thursday.
