Chris Anthony Tyler

Age 64 of Ellsworth, died at his home on Monday, January 27, 2014.Born June 24, 1949 to Dr. John and Shirley Tyler. He grew up in Houston, Texas.Chris was an intelligent, gregarious, and spiritual person. He loved learning and attended over ten colleges and universities. Chris served in the Vietnam War as an artillery specialist.He held a degree in hotel and restaurant management, attended physical therapy school, held a master’s degree in education, and served as a court mediator for families in distress. He taught for many years at the Ellsworth Middle School. He loved teaching and he loved kids. He ran student council, the school store, and talent shows for many years and chaperoned many special events. Chris had an interest in computers and developed and ran his own consulting business, Tyler Consulting, for twenty-five years.Chris married Linda in 1984 and they lived in Houston, Texas and River Falls, Wisconsin before purchasing the family farm in Ellsworth where they raised two daughters. Chris loved the farm and his tools and machines.Chris is preceded in death by his sister Brenda, his father, Dr. John, and his mother, Shirley and nephew Kyle.He is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Sarah and Annie (Mark), brothers and sisters Jim (Danica) of Houston, Texas, Joann (Al) of Florida, Linda (Johnny) of League City, Texas, Carol (Paul) of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mike (Karen) of San Antonio, Texas as well as Uncle Bill (Kathy) of Boca Raton, Florida, nieces and nephews and friends.Hill Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ellsworth, WI is serving the family.
