Cody Lang

Cody James Lang, current resident of Woodville WI, was born on May 9, 1991, and passed away unexpectedly at the Baldwin Area Medical Center on the evening of Friday, August 13th, 2010.

Cody was born in Baldwin WI to parents Kristine (nee Brooks) Brandt and James Lang Jr. He was raised in the Baldwin, Woodville, and Emerald areas. Cody attended school in the Glenwood City School District, and graduated with the Class of 2009. Cody enjoyed wrestling from a very young age, and was also a gifted artist. Cody was unable to participate in many activities due to his long time battle with his health. However, those that knew Cody best, often heard nothing of his struggles, as he always had a smile on his face, and brought smiles to many with his quick wit and sense of humor.

Cody was employed as a cook with the Hammond Hotel, and had many activities that he enjoyed. He represented his employer by being on their dart and softball leagues, and was also a member of the local bowling league. Cody enjoyed everything outdoors, including four-wheeling, camping, and fishing. If you knew Cody, you know how proud he was of his Pontiac Grand Prix GTP – his beloved car that he spent hours decking out.

Cody is survived by his mother, Kristine (Gordon) Brandt; father James (Sheila) Lang Jr.; siblings, Kailey and Briana Brandt, and Alex Lang; grandparents, Corrine (Gene) Carlson, James (Joyce Benson) Lang Sr., and Angie Brandt; great-grandmother Ruth Lang; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors. Cody was preceded in death by his grandfather, James L. Brooks; and great-grandparents Charles William Lang, Leroy (Mary Lou) Brooks, and Joseph (Janella) Proulx.

Mass of Christian Burial for Cody James Lang will be 11AM Wednesday, August 18th at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church; 753 1st Street in Glenwood City. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Emerald. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 17th from 4 until 8PM at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Baldwin. Memorials are preferred.
