Colleen Florence Prine

Colleen Florence Prine, 80, passed away January 11, 2016, in her hometown of River
Falls, WI. Colleen was born in River Falls, June 8, 1935, to Howard and Ruth
(O’Connell) Bjornson. She graduated from Ellsworth High School and shortly thereafter
married Dan Prine. Dan and Colleen had two beautiful children, Mike and Denise
(DeeDee).

Colleen loved her Green Bay Packers, animals, county music, puzzles, and of course her friends
and family. She was always thinking of others; that is why so many people love her. She
was also quick to have a witty response, and make people laugh. You couldn’t help but to
smile and laugh with her. Colleen worked for 22 years at the River Falls State Bank,
where many people considered her to be their favorite teller. Prior to this she worked at
Sears for many years. Throughout this time, she met many lifelong friends.
Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ruth, husband, Dan, son Mike,
brother, Frannie Bjornson, brother-in-law, Orin Bjornstad, and
nephews Daryl Bjornstad, Steve Bjornson, and Bryan Bjornson.

She is survived by her daughter, DeeDee Prine of River Falls, brother Dick Bjornson of River Falls, sister Deanna Bjornstad of Hudson, brother Jerry Bjornson of Ellsworth, grandson, Jordan Young of River Falls, sister-in-law,Elaine Bjornson of Chanhassen, and many family members and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls from 4 to 7 pm
Thursday, January 14, 2016. A mass of Christian Burial will also be held at St. Bridget’s
at 11:00 am, Friday, January 15, 2016, preceded by a one hour visitation. Interment is at
St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please, offer your donation in memory of Colleen Prine to the Rhino’s
Foundation of River Falls (https://rhinosfoundation.org), which was started by dear friends of Mike Prine, Colleen’s late son, and supports families touched by cancer.
