Cynthia L. MacDonald

Cynthia L. Macdonald, age 55 of Hudson, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 13, 2014 at her residence.

Cynthia was born on February 24, 1959 to Clifford and Beulah (Anderson) Gorman, in Manitowoc, WI; nine minutes after her identical twin sister, Cheryl. While growing up, her family moved several times around the state of Wisconsin. In 1979, Cynthia met the love of her life, Michael MacDonald. They dated for two months and were married on August 29, 1980 in Manitowoc, WI. Together they have 3 beloved children, Cory, Megan, and Melissa. Michael’s service with the U.S. Coast Guard caused the family to move several times, landing in Hudson in 2002. Most recently, Cynthia worked at the Target in Hudson.

Cynthia was a strong, independent woman that loved her family. She enjoyed landscaping and gardening. Her yard was full of flowers and plants she planted and features she had designed. Cynthia’s vegetable garden was the source of all the produce she shared with others and for the ingredients of her fresh salsa. She loved the colors and the cooler temperatures of the fall season. Cynthia was also an extremely thrifty shopper, always scouring the clearance racks to find the best deals.

Cynthia is survived by her Husband of 34 years, Michael ”Mike;”” son, Cory; twin daughters, Megan and Melissa; grandson, Hunter; siblings, Clifford (Mary) Gorman Jr., Terry (Sheldon) Gorman, June (Dan) Gorman, and Cheryl (Richard) Kiel ; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Wayne, Theresa and James Gorman.

A Memorial Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 South Eleventh Street, Hudson.
