Daniel P. Krogseng

On February 23, 2018, we lost an incredibly good man. Dan Krogseng was born on October 3, 1965 and was proud to be told regularly that he looked, ‘way younger than that’. He was cool and laid back but was serious about his most important jobs: being the best husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend he could be.

Dan grew up on St. Paul’s Eastside and was a proud Eastsider and Harding High School graduate. He later moved farther east, ending up at home in Roberts, WI. He was a co-owner of Twin Cities Abatement Technologies in South St. Paul with his lifelong friend, Brian Kelly.

Dan was a kind, thoughtful, smart man with a contagious glass-half-full attitude. He was an amazing cook and guitarist. He loved his time as a volunteer basketball coach and managed never to be ejected from a game, although he came close a few times. He could fix anything, sometimes with the help of YouTube. He liked the Vikings, Lynx, Twins, and Wild most of the time, but his favorite team was the St. Croix Central girls basketball team. Dan loved music, especially 80’s rock with ridiculously long guitar solos. He was skilled in the language of movie quotes and slipped these into many conversations without most people noticing. He never once made a complete stop at a stop sign and he usually got away with it. He was right when he assured others that, ‘It’ll be okay. It always is.’

Dan was loved by many people and the space he leaves behind is enormous. He is survived by his wife Marcia Krogseng and his children Isaiah Krogseng, Mia Krogseng, Sam Krogseng, and Max Berger. We love you so much, Dan, and we are your biggest fans. You are with us forever and we thank you for all you’ve done for us.

Dan is also survived by a large and loving family: his mother, Diane Middleton, father and stepmother, Ron and Daphne Krogseng, sisters Jody Krogseng (David Riddle), Julie Morancey (Mike Morancey), and Krissy Kringle (Brian Rahn), step-siblings Noel Anderson (Brian Botzet) and Sabrina Anderson (Jim Halbert), nieces and nephews Jeremy Krogseng, Jackie Deaton, Matt Sura, Nick Perez, Luke Morancey, Snow Deaton, Travis Burns, Jarrett Burns, Brendon Kelly, and Nick Kelly, in-laws Gladys Earl, Janelle Earl, Vickie and Jamie Goulette, Trent Prince, Dave Widmyer, Josh Widmyer, and Brian and Gina Kelly, next door neighbors and best friends the Melby family, and a very long list of close and important friends who were family to Dan.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held 4:00 – 7:00 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. A Memorial Service will take place 1:00 PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Cross Lutheran Church, 1246 County Rd. TT, Roberts.
