Daphne Knudtson Vierow age 81 of Cottage Grove died peacefully December 13th, 2013. Daphne was born on June 9, 1932 in Harmony, Minnesota; the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Thompson) Knudtson. She was raised in Harmony where she graduated from Harmony High School in 1950. She would further her education at the College of Medical Technology where she learned to be a lab tech.

She would be married to Charles Vierow to which children Ann, Chip, and Mark were blessed. Daphne was active with the Via De Cristo “Cursillo” and was National Secretariat in Minneapolis. Following the sudden death of her two-month-old grandchild Corey, she began making quilts for others. She quilted over 300 baby quilts for Children’s hospital.

Daphne is survived by her daughter Ann (Richard) Hood of California, son Mark (Patti) Vierow of Woodbury; daughter-in-law Sandy Justin Vierow; grandchildren Jessica (Jerome), Ryan (Zarah), Hillary (Ed), Kelsey, Tyler, Vanessa; great grandchildren Jerome, Jasmine, Jayla, Jay, Dynamite, Aksel; great great grandchild Jaiden. She is preceded in death by her husband Chuck, son Chip, grandson Corey, and sister Ordell Culpepper (Jim).

Funeral service for Daphne will be 10:30AM Tuesday December 17th at Shepherd Of The Valley Lutheran Church; 14107 Hudson Road So. in Afton. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning. Funeral services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson.
