Darla Jean Stoppelmoor, 74 of Roberts died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Hudson Hospital.She was born on April 22, 1939 to Walter and Birdelle (Porter) Schake in Mahtowa, MN. Darla married Lowell Stoppelmoor on June 21, 1957 in Waterloo, Iowa. They lived in Iowa, where she worked at Chamberlain Manufacturing, building shells for the military and then worked at John Deere as a storage coordinator, along with raising their three children. In 1978 they moved to Western Wisconsin.Darla loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren, her pride and joy. In the early years she spent a lot of time enjoying their cabin with their family and friends on the Mississippi River. She enjoyed holiday parties, gardening, flowers, sitting in the sun, watching birds, exercising and talking at the pool with her lady friends. Darla and Lowell have traveled all over and most often to their favorite spot in South Texas where they would spent their winters for 23 years making many friends and countless memories.She is survived by her husband; Lowell of Roberts, three children; Kimberly Kay (John) Highsmith of Lindstrom, MN, Larry (Jennifer) Stoppelmoor of Turtle Lake and Sheila (Christopher) Rohl of Roberts, 12 grandchildren; Melissa, Jacob, Dustin, Michael, Sarah, Samantha, Gabriel, Nicholas, Natalie, Corey, Kayla and Amanda, seven great grandchildren; Desirae, Ella, Jack, Ruby, Brody, Hailey and Sydney, sister; Marlyn Subra and brother; Dale (Dona) Schake, sister-in-law; Delores Schake, brother-in-law; Glenn Subra and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.Darla is preceded in death by her grandson; Eric Schares, parents; Walter and Birdelle Schake, three brothers; James, Warren and Derryll Schake, sister; Ardyce Subra and son-in-law, Bernie Schares.
