Darol Eby, age 89 of Little Canada, MN, passed away on September 4, 2022 at Regions Hospital. Darol was born in Aberdene SD on April 15, 1933 to parents George Earl and Velma Hazel (Webb) Eby. After graduating High School from Ortonville HS in 1949 he worked on the family farm before enlisting in the United States Military. He proudly served in the army during the Korean war and was captured and held as a POW for some time. Darol was awarded with a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service. After he was discharged from the Army he reenlisted for a stint in the Navy. He struggled with alcoholism before making the decision to get sober in 1986. He had been 36 years sober at the time of his passing. After his recovery he was a sponsor in AA, helping others through the struggles
Darol married Dorothy White in July 1959 and was blessed with three children. The marriage later dissolved, but when Darol moved to Florida in 1998 he found love again when he met Shirley Pridgen. The two shared their life together for many years before Shirley sadly passed away from cancer. Darol was a strong willed and grounded man who valued conservative viewpoint. He will be missed greatly by his children Joel (Michele) Eby of Hudson, WI, Joella (Rick) Givens of Lakeland Shores, MN, and Jason Eby of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren Erika Eby (Randy Meister) of Racine, WI, Nathan Eby of Hudson, WI, Savanna Givens of Woodbury, MN, and Zachary Givens of Lakeland Shores, MN. He is preceded in death by both his parents and his siblings Maida Harper Barrick, Earl Eby, and Norman Eby.
A graveside service for Darol will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN on Thursday, September 29th at 12:30 p.m.
