Darrell Lee Dugdale

Darrell “Dug” Lee Dugdale, age 83, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, in New Richmond, WI. after a short battle with bladder cancer. Darrell was born on May 23, 1935, the son of Clarence and Ethel (Larson) Dugdale. He graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School in 1953 and went on to attend college at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Darrell worked 32 years at ME International as an administrative manager and a production control supervisor until his retirement in 1992. Darrell was extremely proud of tending to his very own orchard of apples, plums, raspberries, grapes, and blueberries. Darrell was also a talented artist; he thoroughly enjoyed wood bowl turning as well as sculpting elegant birds, fish, and other wildlife. He also enjoyed painting and drawing. Although he was focused on his various projects, Darrell had a soft spot for his children as well as his dogs; he loved unconditionally and valued every moment with his family. He enjoyed vacations with his family, reading, and spending time outdoors.
Darrell will remain in the hearts of his wife, Kathy Dugdale; children, Becca (Jim Cochrane) Dugdale, Jeff Dugdale, Brad (Megan Taylor) Dugdale, Tim (Eric Borchert) Dugdale, and Todd Dugdale; the mother of his sons, Mary Dugdale; as well as other extended family members and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel; sister Jeanne Vecchi; and brother, Bob Dugdale.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 10 to 11 AM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI, followed by a Memorial Service for Darrell at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in memory of Darrell to the Hudson Public Library, Animal Humane Society, or the Lutheran Island Camp of Henning, MN.
