David Dean Cook, age 76 of Hudson, WI, formerly of Victoria, MN, passed away unexpectedly April 11, 2017 at the Hudson Hospital. Dave was born March 3, 1941 in Lansing, MI, the son of Loton and Earlene (Murphy) Cook. He graduated from Kellogg High School in Hickory Corners, MI, the Class of 1959. Dave received his BA Degree in Education at Taylor University in Upland, IN. Dave worked as a Student Support Service Manager with Hennepin Technical College and Intermediate District 287 for over 30 years. If you were blessed to have Dave be a part of your day, you knew it was going to be a good one; he lived and shared his motto, ”You choose your attitude each day””. He was always there to help others, a cherished friend and servant to all, putting others happiness ahead of his own. Above all, Dave put his family first, loving and treasuring his wife, children and grandchildren with all of his heart.

Dave was most fond of being on the water, boating and fishing with his family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and taking in a good round of golf. He had a great love for all sports, most recently he was active at the Hudson YMCA playing the game of pickle ball, and enjoying the camaraderie he found there. In addition, he had a great passion for Gospel music, especially quartets.

Survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marilynn, former wife, Patricia Windel; children, Pamela Dennen (Kyle) Brown of Joliet, IL, Timothy (Naomi) Cook of Pueblo West, CO, and Nicole (Lucas) Blodgett of Hammond, WI; 9 grandchildren: Jordan, Jeremiah, Samuel and Libby Dennen; Norah and Micah Cook; Colton, Jacob and Beau Blodgett; brother, Daniel (Ruby) Cook of Augusta, GA; sister, Terri Maxson of Galesburg, MI; mother-in-law, Irene Mohl of Hazen, ND; Mohl brothers-in-law, Jack (Caryl), Larry (Joyce), Jim (Kari), Lance (Lisa), Kevin (Maureen), Kendall, Greg (Caroline), Gerald and sister-in-law, Michelle Mohl; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Loton and Earlene Cook; step father, Steve Edelen; and brother-in-law, Douglas Maxson.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday, April 20th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th Street, Hudson, WI. A Celebration of Dave’s Life will take place at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to Faith Community Church, Hudson, WI.
